Cryogenic Turboexpander LPG Recovery

A Modular Solution for Deeper Liquids Recovery

Overview

Higher Recovery. Greater LPG Value.

For rich natural gas applications, deeper liquids recovery can create meaningful additional product value. Cryogenic turboexpander technology provides a practical approach to recovering more propane and heavier hydrocarbons where incremental LPG value supports deeper recovery.

Designed for Deeper Recovery

Cryogenic turboexpander LPG Recovery uses a cryogenic process to recover propane and heavier hydrocarbons from rich natural gas. The process combines gas dehydration, refrigeration and expansion, heat exchange and fractionation to achieve deeper liquids recovery while maintaining practical operation.

How 5Blue Delivers the Solution

5Blue brings process development and integrated project execution together around the specific requirements of each application. Feed conditions, recovery objectives, facility integration and project economics are considered alongside constructability and modular execution from the earliest stages of development.

Our integrated delivery model extends from engineering and procurement through manufacturing, modular assembly, commissioning and field support—helping turn the recovery opportunity into a practical, executable project.

Why Cryogenic LPG Recovery

Capture More Saleable Liquids

Recover more propane and heavier hydrocarbons where incremental LPG value supports deeper recovery.

Improve Recovery Efficiency

Target high liquids recovery while balancing energy demand, operating performance and project economics.

Simplify Execution

A robust cryogenic process configuration supports stable operation with reduced process complexity and risk.

Where Cryogenic LPG Recovery Fits

Large Gas-Processing Opportunities

A compelling range to evaluate: 200–400 MMSCFD, where throughput can amplify the value of incremental LPG recovery.*

Screen Smaller Applications

Western Canadian simulations indicate potential competitiveness from ~135 MMSCFD, depending on gas composition.*

Build the Project Business Case

Compare liquids uplift, energy use, capital cost and product netback against alternative recovery options.

*Screening ranges are preliminary; recovery, energy use and economics require project-specific simulation.
